The MOMS Club offers a wide variety of activities, events and supports geared toward supporting you in your decision to be an at-home mom.

As a MOMS Club member, you are eligible to participate in all club activities and to hold any club office. The following benefits are extended to all of our members:

To truly offer one another support, we need to get together!  Playgroups are a way for mothers and children to get to know each other, enjoy social time and build lasting friendships.  A member facilitator forms small groups based on factors such as children's age and gender.  Once groups are formed, they usually meet at a member's home on a weekly basis.  Many members find this to be a favorite benefit offered by the club.

We offer a variety of monthly activities for moms and children to enjoy together.   Activities are designed for, but not limited to, age-appropriate groups, and facilitated by MOMS Club volunteers.  Past activities have included field trips to family-friendly locations around town, music or gymnastics classes and organized events at members' homes.  Also available is the monthly "Breakfast Club," where moms (and kids) go out and have breakfast served to them for a change!

A monthly business meeting is held on the first Thursday of each month.  At these meetings, we gather to discuss and plan club events, hear guest speakers and enjoy social time.  Childcare is provided for little ones, and the older children are invited to participate in a craft activity.

We enjoy many other great events during the year.  Some of our past annual activities include:

  • Easter Party
  • Spring Social
  • Halloween Party
  • Winter Party

MOMS Club exists as a source of social, emotional and practical support for stay-at-home moms.  We offer support in many forms.  Here is a listing of some of our current resources:

  • Telephone Support Team:  A group of volunteers offering to provide advice and encouragement to members struggling with the challenges of parenting.
  • Sunshine Meals:  Providing meals for member families in times of need.
  • Moms' Night Out:  A once-a-month chance to get out of the house and enjoy organized social time.  Past activities include movies, dinners, theater, casino trips, music, crafts and games.
  • Moms' Weekend Getaway:  An annual overnight social event where moms can have fun, strengthen friendships and temporarily escape the demands of motherhood.
  • Secret Sisters:  A seasonal opportunity to spoil each other with words of affirmation, sweet treats and special gifts; concluding with a final revealing party.
  • Moms' Gift Exchange Parties:  We have enjoyed Easter Basket and Holiday Gift exchanges in years past.

An integral part of the MOMS Club is working together to support children, families and our community.  Our members participate in a variety of service projects throughout the year.  A few of our past projects:

  • Support to the Rachel Whisman Fund, which provides care packages of necessities for parents of patients at Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
  • Winter coat collections.
  • Assisting Habitat for Humanity in building homes for members of our community.
  • Raising over $35,000 in two special fundraising events for a local child abuse prevention program.
  • Gift baskets for local women's shelters.
  • Christmas stockings, gifts and dinners for homeless families.
  • Collection of infant supplies for mothers in need.

MOMS Club members receive a monthly newsletter packed with details on upcoming activities and events along with other useful information.  Members may also check out the "Parenting With Dignity" video series by the Drew Bledsoe Foundation to view at home.

We want to make your time as a mother at home the best it can be.  That means incorporating opportunities for you to utilize your existing skills and expertise, and providing a chance for you to learn and grow in new areas.  All activities and events mentioned here are facilitated by volunteer members who commit to a 6 month term of service.  The volunteers are headed by a 6 member executive board, which serves a 12 month term.  Club volunteers also design and publish our monthly newsletter, a club scrapbook and this website!  All members are encouraged to get involved with the club by taking on a board or facilitator position, and/or by volunteering at monthly business meetings.  It's YOUR club, and there's no better way to build friendships and connections than by working together.

If you'd like additional information, or would like to request a membership application, please feel free to contact us.  We'd love to hear from you!
